Marina Village Middle School

Our garden program is currently up and running at Marina Village Middle School in El Dorado Hills. This programs provide lunchtime activities including but not limited to raking, weeding, watering, painting outdoor murals and rocks, planning, planting, composting and harvesting seasonal fruits and vegetables; in addition to education regarding sustainable practices and garden planning and maintenance. The Marina garden also incorporates an indoor hydroponics growing station to add to sustainable learning.

In partnership with Project Green and Project Luma, Marina Village Middle School also has a campus Impact Beautification Team (open to all 6th – 8th graders) in which students identify areas of the school and garden that need color, visual interest and overall beautification. As part of this team, students also have the opportunity to work on finding and writing grant proposals.

Project Green provides a safe and encouraging atmosphere for children to gather while cultivating relationships and learning to garden.
